Head Coach Steve Fielding is a former WMTA Australian Super Heavyweight Champion and K-1 competitor with nearly three decades of coaching experience. Steve fought out of Tony Mundine’s Gym Redfern under the guidance of his Coach and Mentor, Australia’s first World Kickboxing Champion “The Legend” Alex Tui. Alex is one of the most respected fighters and trainers in the country.

Meet the Team

  • Steve started Triple Eight Thaiboxing on the 1st December 2024.

    He started teaching Muay Thai in 1997 and has produced 18 State and National Title Holders. He holds a Diploma in Counselling and is a qualified Auto Mechanic.

    He was the founder of Bondi Muay Thai Stables in 2001 and was on Team Tui, Mundine’s Gym in Redfern.

    Fighting accomplishments include:
    *Former WMTA Australian Super Heavyweight Muay Thai Champion
    *WMC Super Heavyweight 4-man tournament winner
    *NSW WKBF Kickboxing Champion

    Steve also has Professional experience at K1 and fought in Thailand and Serbia.

  • Louis started martial arts at age 12, beginning with boxing at TJ’s Boxing Gym, where he built a foundation in discipline, fitness, and strong boxing fundamentals. He tried a few other Martial Arts but ultimately changed his focus to Muay Thai.

    Since joining the team at Triple Eight, his skills have improved significantly. The training systems, the people and the professional environment have all enabled him to grow, improve, and take his skills to another level.

    He has been competing on the amateur Muay Thai circuit and is keen to go Pro one day.

    Louis is a Disability Support worker and is currently studying to become a Personal Trainer with the goal of becoming a full time fitness professional.
